Mr. Wang has led and participated in deals such as GenAns Biotech, StarryGene, Myrobalan Therapeutics, LysoX Therapeutic, Newislet Therapeutics,and BioTroy Therapeutics etc.
Mr. Wang is Senior Investigator and Deputy Director of Institute of Molecular Physiology, Shenzhen Bay Laboratory. His research has been focusing on the neural regulation of metabolism in various animal models. His research work has been published in high-profile journals e.g., PNAS, eLife, Nature Neurosci, Cell Res, and etc. Before joining Shenzhen Bay laboratory in 2022, Mr. Wang was a tenured professor in Life Sciences Institute, Zhejiang Univertity since 2014.
Mr. Wang is Co-founder and Managing Director of the Feng Foundation of Biomedical Research (with Mr. Xin Huang), a philanthropic foundation to support innovative biomedical research in China.
Mr. Wang is an enthusiastic science writer and advocator, who published several well-recognized science books, including Layman’s Biology for Foodies (‘16), God’s Scissors: Human Gene Editing (‘17), What is Life (‘18), and Lectures on Evolution (‘22).
Mr. Wang holds a Ph.D. from California Institute of Technology, and a B.S. from Peking University. He was Bowes Research Fellow in UC Berkeley (‘12-‘13), and Management Consultant at BCG (‘13-‘14).
